The PE Department at Pipers held their second sports seminar of the year at the end of last week when they welcomed Mr Richard Sturla, Director of Personal Training at Results Health and Performance (RHP), to make a presentation to girls and their parents focussing on the principles of training and diet.

Mr Sturla is a certified Master Personal Trainer, Motivation & Sports Conditioning Coach through the European Institute of Fitness and is certified to the highest level (Level 3 Advanced) by the Register of Exercise Professionals in the UK. He also holds a First Class Honours BSc Degree in International Management & French from the University of Bath. Through his work Mr Sturla's aim is to help clients and athletes (youth to professional) from all walks of life achieve their body transformation and sports fitness goals

The interactive seminar was particularly relevant to GCSE PE students and covered a variety of interesting and thought-provoking topics including training techniques and tips, as well as nutritional advice. The lively and topical Q&A at the end of the session clearly demonstrated how much both parents and pupils were inspired by what Mr Sturla had to say.
