Whole School Pre-Prep and Prep

It has been a rather different end to the Autumn Term than expected at Pipers. Following two days of snow closure on Monday and Tuesday we did our very best to fit three days’ worth of activities into one!

We were very pleased to welcome the girls back to school on Wednesday for the final day of term. It was also Christmas Jumper Day at Pipers and it was great to see so many of the students get into the festive spirit.

At lunchtime 700 delicious Christmas lunches were served to students and staff by our fabulous catering team, Holroyd Howe – something that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Then, in the afternoon end of term assembly, Pre-Prep performed their nativity to the whole school.

At the end of the school day it was time for the rescheduled performance of the Prep Department Christmas Variety Show. This special event had been due to take place on Tuesday evening, but sadly had to be postponed due to the snow. However, everyone pulled together to fit it into the last day of term and Prep took us on a journey around the world to discover how people of different nationalities celebrate Christmas.

On our journey we visited Spain, Germany, The Caribbean, Africa and North America as the girls presented the traditions from the different countries through a mixture of drama, dance and music. The show ended with a magnificent rendition from the whole cast of “All I want for Christmas” – what a brilliant way to end the term!
