Whole School Pre-Prep

The girls in Pre-Prep had a wonderful trip to ‘Waddesdon Manor’ where they enjoyed exploring the grounds.

When they arrived the girls were taken to the Bakst room to view the seven paintings depicting the story of Sleeping Beauty, painted by Leon Bakst. They were then provided with a talk about the paintings, explaining what can be seen in each one. Props were introduced and the girls had great fun acting out each scene from the story.

Following the acting, they were taken outside to view the front of the Manor and the girls were asked to provide as many adjectives as they could to describe the Manor. They then made their way to the aviaries to see if they could find a Fairy Bluebird that was identified in one of the paintings.

After lunch, the girls enjoyed a creative writing session where they had the opportunity to sequence the paintings and to add their own text to create their own story of Sleeping Beauty. They all had a thoroughly enjoyable day!

The girls’ behaviour was impeccable and it was delightful to receive so many complimentary remarks from the staff at Waddesdon Manor.
