Whole School Pre-Prep and Prep

Year 11, 12 and 13 Textiles students enjoyed a trip the V & A Textiles and Fashion Museum where they viewed Christian Dior and Mary Quant collections, one of the most outstanding exhibitions the girls have ever seen.

The whole experience of viewing the journey of Christian Dior of his legacy and the inspiration of his successors, was breath taking. The atmosphere, created by lighting, sound and digital visual effects to sharpen the senses, gave the girls the opportunity to see close up the detail of the quality workmanship, stunning fabrics, textures and colour, a true privilege. An emotional, spine tangling show of what must surely be some of the most prestigious gowns, outfits and accessories ever produced.

The Mary Quant Exhibition was a contrast in terms of size and styles, but equally gave an interesting insight into how fashion has moved on even a decade later than the Haute Couture of Christian Dior.

It was an inspiring day out for all students.
