Whole School Pre-Prep and Prep

Part of life at Pipers is built on giving our girls broad and unique opportunities home and abroad. Year 9 and 10 students from Pipers Corner and RGS travelled to Germany for the return leg of the German Exchange to Osnabrück in the north of the country.

This was a particularly special year with the German partner school, the Ratsgymnasium, celebrating 50 years of this partnership with RGS and 10 years with Pipers Corner.  This was marked by festivities in the town hall, including a visit from the Mayor of Osnabrück and the Minister for Culture of Lower Saxony. Afterwards, all 1100 students of the Ratsgymnasium, together with their exchange partners, gathered in the town hall square for a rendition of the European anthem, which they sang in various European languages. The afternoon was concluded with dragon boat racing and a traditional German barbeque.

The students all enjoyed this wonderful opportunity and the generous hospitality of the host families throughout their stay. They also benefited enormously from the experience, both from a linguistic, as well as a cultural point of view. Our girls proved yet again what excellent ambassadors they are, and forged some lasting friendships for the future.
