Pre-Prep and Prep

This week Pipers were delighted to welcome back students in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6

On Monday 1 June, Pipers welcomed back 96% of its Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 students onto the school site. The school worked extremely hard to ensure the children had a safe environment to return to and social distance learning was put in place.

Pre-Prep already benefit hugely from having small class sizes and therefore have been able to carry on their learning in their normal classrooms. Playtime and lunchtime breaks have been staggered to minimise contact between the year groups. Meanwhile, the Year 6 students have been split into ‘bubbles’, with each being based in a designated large space, such as the Landau Hall.

The bright, sunny weather has allowed for plenty of outdoor learning. Year 6, in their ‘bubbles’ have started rehearsing for this term’s production of Bugsy Malone – who can be seen working on a routine on the astro-turf in the video below.

We hope we will be able to welcome back further year groups as the term progresses, if government advice allows. In the meantime, students in these year groups continue with ‘Remote Teaching and Online Learning’, with the Upper Sixth embarking on pre-university courses.
