Whole School Pre-Prep and Prep

It was a joyous start to the week at Pipers with the whole school joining together to share a service led by School Chaplain, Rev. Meardon, on the theme of “New Life”!

At Pipers we regularly hold Whole School Services in order to provide an opportunity for the whole school community to come together and focus on a given theme. As in previous years, the service was intended to be held outside on the school lawn, however unfortunately the rain had other ideas and the service had to be moved inside to the Sports Hall. Thankfully the change in venue did not dampen the cheerful nature of the event, or the enthusiasm shown by the girls.

Rev. Meardon gave a talk about the importance of a healthy environment in order for something to grow and flourish. Using the analogy of a plant he demonstrated how nourishment is required for living things to develop, and explained how the same is true of human relationships. In order to create fruitful meaning and lasting relationships with others he suggested that we should focus on three things: words, actions and encouragement.

During the service there were performances from each section of the school. Three of our Senior students sand “Lift Thine Eyes” by Mendelssohn, and the Pre-Prep Department shared a lovely rendition of “From the Tiny Ant” as well as reading a poem called “Spring”. Prep girls had written prayers which they shared with the rest of the school. A highlight of the event was an impressive group dance choreographed and performed by a group of Year 9 girls, to “Blinded by your Grace pt2” by Stormzy.
