A group of six girls known as ‘The Churchyard Girls’ will be participating in Wycombe Homeless Connection’s Big Sleepout this weekend.

On Friday 4 December the group which includes one of our students, Mia M, will be sleeping outside in their local churchyard.

Postponed from November, the weather forecast for the weekend predicts sleet and potentially snow and the participants will only have a cardboard box on the ground – there won’t be a tent in sight.

The motivation for this sponsored event is to highlight the proximity of homelessness and to raise money for Wycombe Homeless Connection.

The target donation is £5,000 which will go towards running an emergency homelessness hotline, preventing unfair evictions, and ensuring people in High Wycombe do not have to sleep on the streets.
