Year 11 welcomed Executive Coach, Paula Dijoux, to school this week to speak to them about “Beauty and the Self-Being".

The talk formed part of the wider programme of Careers guidance offered to our students as they consider the paths they may wish to take when leaving school.

Paula spoke to the students about the importance of believing in yourself and how, more often than not, women can be judgemental of themselves. The group considered how men tend to apply themselves to situations when they are not 100% qualified, compared to women who tend to look at the negatives of everything, resulting in less opportunities.

Paula is an Executive coach in the professional sector. She coaches, trains and mentors individuals, teams and groups to help them to achieve sustainable business strategies, behaviours and actions which create confidence and lead to effective results.

The key message she left with the girls was that they should treat themselves as they would like to be treated by others:

  • Take compliments
  • Hear the good things
  • Set (small) goals
  • Be nice
  • Take off the googles
  • Take the wins
  • And most importantly to be kind to you.
