Just before the Easter break, the cast of the Senior Theatre Company delivered an inspiring production of “I Love You, Mum – I Promise I Won’t Die”. These were the final words spoken by sixteen-year-old Daniel Spargo-Mabbs to his mother following a night out at an illegal rave where he took MDMA.

The play is based on the events of that fateful evening through the words of friends and family.

The girls delivered the play with genuine heart-felt emotion and it was an incredibly moving experience to witness. The cast were also incredibly humbled when Daniel’s mother came to talk to them during rehearsals. One of the cast commented “I feel like now every single cast member has developed an emotional attachment and their own relationship with Dan. This feels like a journey that will not just end after the final show, but a journey and memory of Dan which I will carry through my whole life.”
