We are incredibly proud to announce that one of the Pipers Young Enterprise teams, ‘Seedlings’, has won the South Central Regional Final and as such have a place in the National Young Enterprise Finals on 6 June.

The competition, which was held last night at Buckinghamshire University, saw Seedlings up against seven other teams from the South-Central Region, which included two other teams from Buckinghamshire – Aylesbury Grammar and Chiltern Hills Academy, alongside Oxford High School for Girls and St George's Ascot. During the event, the Seedlings team gave a four-minute presentation which was accompanied by a full company report and review of their product and marketing.

They also won the Regional Innovation and Technology award, which Annabelle P collected on behalf of the team for the amazing website she created for the company and technological input she has been key in giving. The awards were made by Ian Howells, Senior Vice-President for Honda Motors Europe who were supporting the competition.

Throughout the process of creating their product and brand, the Seedlings team have been very proactive with their marketing, which included reaching out to 2020 MasterChef winner Alex Webb, who created a Cod recipe for them using their vegetables and herbs grown from seed.

In preparation for the event, and in response to feedback from the area judges in previous rounds, they created, designed and printed a children’s book to expand their product range, as well as use their characters to help teach children about the patience and reward involved when growing herbs and vegetables.

With their new children’s book ready for distribution, the team will be selling Seedling kits at Cliveden for their National Childrens Gardening Week, to inspire the next generation of growers.  The team will be there on Monday 29 May, Wednesday 31 May and Friday 2 June 1000-1300 hours, so please do go along and show your support if you can.

The Seedlings Team are aiming to emulate the National success of the Bathe Team who won the National Finals back in 2019 before representing the UK in the European Finals.

Congratulations and Good Luck to Seedings.
