The Pipers Corner PTA was founded in 1967 to provide opportunities for parents to involve themselves more closely with the school, to meet staff and girls, to make new friends and to contribute by organising social events and fundraising to enrich the education provision at Pipers Corner School.
The PPTA is headed by a Committee elected and helped by PPTA Form Representatives (all parent volunteers), who act as a conduit between the Committee and the school community to encourage other parents and girls to come along and support events.
It is important to note that all parents automatically become members of the PPTA on joining the school. Parents are very welcome to attend the PPTA Open Meetings and Annual General Meeting as well as to put themselves forward for election to the PPTA Committee and/or to become Form Representatives. Outside of specific Committee/Form Representative roles, if you have the time and enthusiasm to spare, the PPTA is always grateful for any help and support you can provide in the organisation of the events. Participation in this way is good fun, provides a great way to meet other parents and is rewarding in terms of the enjoyment the girls and wider community get from attending PPTA events.
We are delighted to report that with your help and support, the PPTA have raised fantastic amounts of money which have been distributed to the following worthwhile causes in and out of school:
|Donations to Charities||Support for the School|
|The Brain Research Trust||Forest School equipment|
|Teenage Cancer Trust||An Art award|
|Everyman Appeal||Garden benches|
|Against Breast Cancer||The wild flower meadow|
|The British Heart Foundation||Tents for the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme|
|Macmillan Cancer Support||Stage lighting for the new Arts Centre|
|CHAT – Children Health and Therapy|
Please continue to support the PPTA events this year and help us to make a difference to our school and some very worthwhile charities.
