During the Easter holidays Pipers girls took to the Italian slopes in Val Di Fiemme for the annual Senior Ski Trip.

On the first morning the girls excitedly got their ski equipment fitted, before being assessed and placed into their initial coaching groups. Glorious sunshine and good snow conditions saw all groups make steady progress throughout the day, after which the girls enjoyed some welcome free time, followed by a fantastic three-course dinner and a good night’s sleep.

There were fantastic conditions again the next day which, with no queues on the lifts, made for lots and lots of excellent skiing. By the third day, the beginners group had progressed onto red runs, with the more advanced groups tackling the Olympic black runs.

Overnight snow made for even better skiing conditions on the final full day when the girls were also lucky enough to have a go at a short timed slalom run.

Throughout the trip the group participated in a number of après ski activities including swimming, a pizza night, a quiz night, karaoke and an awards presentation – all of which kept them very busy.

Miss Poore, Head of PE said, “It was a wonderful trip and all the girls had a great time both on and off the slopes. I was extremely impressed by the girls’ enthusiasm and how keen they were to improve their skills.”
