Pipers Corner attended the National Finals of the LEAF Food, Farming and the Environment competition 2021, following the Year 9s outstanding semi-final video submission earlier this year.

Three of our Year 11 Geography students represented the School at the competition which was held from 22 to 24 October at Coleg Cambria Llysfasi; a land-based college in Ruthin, North Wales,

The weekend gave them the opportunity to learn more about farming, food and technology and included everything from soil and sheep to tractors and forestry.

At the end of the weekend each school delivered a presentation in response to the question “Can farming become carbon neutral in the future?”, drawing on what they had learnt during their three days. The presentations were judged by the college staff, representatives of LEAF and members of the national farming community.

Our students did a fantastic job and we are pleased to announce that Pipers Corner are proud runners-up of the LEAF Food, Farming and the Environment 2021!
