Whole School Textiles

To mark a year of unprecedented times, the Textiles Department offered students and staff the opportunity to decorate a fabric hexagon to become part of a new hanging installation in the school.

Everyone was invited to decorate their hexagon with stitch, fabric or yarn with any sort of simple shape, symbol or pattern which has significance about the Year 2020 and/or lockdown. The base colours of fabrics given out were a variety of rainbow colours so that the overall hanging will have a rainbow effect.

Mrs Tebb, former Head of Textiles, then sewed together all of the completed hexagons and the artwork is now hanging in the Arts Centre.
