As part of the Queen’s Green Canopy project, we planted an English Oak tree in our grounds at a small ceremony this week.

The project is to commemorate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee next year and the initiative encourages everyone to “plant a tree for the Jubilee”.

The ceremony was attended by a selection of our school community, and members of our Gardening Club had the honour of planting the sapling, which was kindly donated to us by the Woodland Trust, in its new home besides the wild flower meadow.

We look forward to watching it flourish and grow into a mighty oak to be enjoyed by future generations.
