NSPCC Number Day is an exciting opportunity for our students to make a difference in other children’s lives through Mathematics.

The Pre-Prep department participated in a range of activities, encompassing core mathematical principles such as problem-solving, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measuring and fractions. Everyone came in dressed as their favourite number and brought in an item to represent numbers, such as a domino or a birthday badge.

Year 2 students competed in a mathematical version of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire. They also played bowling, each skittle had a multiple of five and the bowler’s score was the total of the numbers they managed to knock down. The scores were calculated by our promising mathematicians who demonstrated remarkable mental arithmetic. Meanwhile, Years 1 and Reception reinforced their knowledge of measurement as they baked fairy cakes, working together to balance the ingredients on scales.
