A presentation ceremony was held on Monday to present our five Rotary Club art competition winners with their certificates and prizes.

Four of our talented students have won places in the local stage of the Rotary Club Young Artist competition. Daisy (Year 6) won first place in the Junior division, whilst Zoe (Year 6) took second place. In the Intermediate category, Sophie (Year 8) was awarded first place and Alexandra (Year 8) placed third. As well as certificates, the students also received Waterstones gift vouchers of up to £50 and our two first-place winners will now have their work entered into the District competition stage.

The presentation ceremony was also an opportunity for the Amersham Rotarians to personally congratulate Year 7 student Lucy, who came third in the national Rotary COP26 Poster Competition in November. Lucy, who had the honour of having her poster displayed during the global COP26 conference as well as Glasgow airport where it will have been seen by thousands including world leaders and visiting dignitaries, was also presented with a framed certificate.

The Rotary Club were delight to finally be able to formally recognise these incredibly talented students and share their success and we look forward to finding out the results of the District stage of the Young Artist competition shortly.
