This week we were thrilled to welcome back alumnae Louise Cox, who shared with our students news about her upcoming adventure, rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic with her team The Tidewaves.

After meeting at the University of London Boat Club, the three fearless young women; Louise, Robyn and Jordan decided to join together to take part in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge - also known as ‘The World’s Toughest Row’, to raise money for charities Access Sport and London Youth Rowing, two incredible charities who make immeasurable differences to the lives of young people.

The inspiring trio will begin their race in San Sebastian de La Gomera in December 2023 and arrive in 2024 in Antigua. It’ll be a gruelling challenge of 40ft waves, 40c heat, Atlantic storms and sharks, with the women being prepared to battle the elements in the greatest challenge of their lives.

The team are aiming to be the fastest female trio to race across the Atlantic in 2023 and they hope to use this campaign to raise awareness and funds, whilst championing equal opportunities for young people in sport.

If you would like to support the team in their awe-inspiring adventure, then please visit their website here.
