It has been an incredible Summer Term of sport so far at Pipers and we have some amazing achievements to shout about.

Buckinghamshire County Cricket. Year 5 student Alexia B, recently played her first match for Buckinghamshire County and took her first wicket.  A really super start for our elite Cricketer, who we look forward to seeing progress through the ranks.

District Athletics. Years 9 and 10 enjoyed a successful appearance at the District Athletics, with Year 10 coming second overall in their year group.  Fantastic efforts from both teams.

National Schools Equestrian Association Eventers Challenge Championships. Last Saturday, Ava W, Lilli C, Ella E and Ellie D finished in Sixth place in the 100cm Eventer Challenge County Championship. The course proved to be very challenging with only 2 teams managing to complete the whole course with zero faults so to place Sixth at this level is an impressive achievement. On Sunday, Ellie D finished Seventh overall and Second in the individual section in the 100cm Show Jumping Championship. Last Monday, Ava W, Phoebe L, Imogen B and Ella E won the 80cm Show Jumping County Championship. With almost 30 teams competing for the Championship title, competition was fierce. Our team not only rode faultless rounds but also completed the course in the fastest times and secured the win with a 10-second lead over the team who finished in Second. An outstanding performance indeed.

IAPS National Swimming Finalist. Year 6 student Mollie M came second in the U11 50m Back Stroke at the IAPS National Swimming finals, this really is an incredible achievement and a personal best as well.

British Triathlon Junior World Trial. Maddie R (Year 12), came 30th overall in the U20 British Triathlon World Trial, where she also placed and impressive Seventh in her age group.  A fantastic result especially given this was the first time Maddie had stepped up to race at the Sprint distance and all whilst studying for her AS examinations!

U14 England Netball Club National Finals. Darcy S and her Under 14 Netball Club Team the ‘Eagles’ made the national finals, they came second place, the Championship title narrowly evading them.  Darcy worked incredibly hard for her team and second place at this level is a superb achievement.

We are really excited to share more sporting successes with you next week, as our students have a jam-packed schedule over the next seven days – all superb precursors to our upcoming School Sports Day!
