Saturday 8 July marked the end of the 2022-2023 academic year, and we did so in our customary way, by welcoming more than 1,500 members of the School community including students, staff, governors, parents and extended family to our flagship event - Speech Day.

Celebrating the outstanding achievements of our students, the School community welcomed Zoologist, Wildlife TV Presenter and Pipers’ special guest Megan McCubbin who gave a memorable speech to inspire our students. She spoke of her battle with dyslexia and how this doesn’t define her as a person or indeed her career, as an author of three books (whilst still under the age of 30) whilst also regaling those present with a charming anecdote involving an interaction in her downstairs WC with a barn owl by the name of Marmite.

In addition to the prize-giving ceremony, guests and students were also treated to showcases from much-loved musicals and performances from throughout the year, including 'CHICAGO', 'Shrek: The Musical Jr' and 'Endangered Animals' the latter by some of our youngest students.

The Celebration marked the end of the Year and indeed the Pipers’ experience for our special Year 13 students, and the Student Leadership Team handed over the reins to their successors, with the Headmistress announcing the new team to lead the School for the next academic year under the guidance of new Head Girl, Emma, and her deputies Chloe, Maddie and Evie. We look forward to welcoming the 2023-2024 Prefect Team to help lead the School in what will no doubt be another successful year at Pipers.
