Explosion of colour!

The Reception Class had great fun this week making wonderful firework pictures using paint and glitter!

One of the EYFS Learning Areas is “Expressive Arts and Design” where the girls are encouraged to be imaginative and to explore and use different media and materials. The fireworks activity provided them with plenty of scope to really bring out their creativity and also learn a little bit more about a current event.

In order to create their fireworks on the page the girls explored what happened when they mixed colours together and how the texture of their pictures changed when the glitter was added.

The girls certainly enjoyed the creative process and the resulting artwork brought a lovely explosion of colour to the classroom when they were put on display!
