Three Pipers Corner students have progressed to the District round of the Rotary Young Artist Competition, following great success at the local stage.

Juliette R (Year 6), Hattie M (Year 8) and Emma A (Year 8) submitted fantastic artwork into the local heats of this year's Rotary Young Artist Competition, which has landed them a place in the District round next month. Juliette and Emma were winners in the local heats, while Hattie was highly commended. If they excel at the Districts, they will go through to the Nationals in May.

This year, the competition's theme is 'Wild Nature' and to accompany the submission, each entrant had to provide a brief sentence describing the relationship of the artwork to the theme. Below is the artwork produced by our finalists.

The Rotary competition aims to encourage young people to:

  • be creative
  • develop skills in using traditional or contemporary media
  • demonstrate interpretation of the topic
  • express personal ideas through a selected medium
