Senior School Pre-Prep and Prep

The Pipers Corner Theatre Company presented an incredible production of “Girls Like That” by Evan Placey, in the last week of the Spring Term. Each member of The Company excelled in their roles, bringing a huge amount of drama to their performances.

The play tells the story of a group of teenage girls who have grown up together from primary into secondary school and explores the way that girls interact and compete with each other.  The plot centres on the character of Scarlett and what happens after a naked photo of her goes viral throughout the school.  Scarlett is humiliated and forced to leave school as we find out that the girls are her worst bullies.  The story is juxtaposed with stories of women from the past who tell their side of sexist behaviours from their lifetime.

The controversial storyline enabled each performer to demonstrate the full range of their acting skills to great effect. The cast showed they were able to take a sensitive subject and deliver the content with energy and clarity to highlight how young people are perceived and how technology can exasperate a situation.

Pipers Theatre Company director, Ms Bevan said “The whole company made me so proud with their skills and determination during the rehearsals and performance of this play.  We were delighted with the amazing response from girls, parents and the wider community that came to see them perform, they should be very pleased with their success.”
