Visit Pipers | Pipers Corner School

Visit Pipers

Open Morning | 21 March 2025

We understand that choosing the right school for your child is an enormous decision.

The start of that journey begins with a visit, where you can begin to imagine what life would be like for your child at Pipers. We encourage families to visit us as many times as they need to as they consider whether Pipers is the right fit for them.

We are delighted to be able to offer a wide variety of ways in which families can interact with Pipers and experience what it means to be part of our community.

You can read more about these opportunities below and please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Admissions Team if you have any questions.

Upcoming Events

We are delighted to be able to invite prospective families to join us for this very special Pre-Prep event on Wednesday 2 April.

This engaging and immersive event has been designed for our own Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 students, to help them develop their storytelling skills, and we are excited to be able to share the magic with local and prospective families with pre-school aged children.

Visiting children will join our our Pre-Prep students in a musical workshop based on a well-known fairytale, with dancing, singing and games, and parents will have the chance to speak with the Head of Pre-Prep and the teaching team to get an insight into what life is like in our wonderful Woodlands Pre-Prep setting.

If you have a daughter who will be starting school in September 2025 or September 2026 and would like to find out more out what Pre-Prep is like at Pipers, then please sign up using the booking form below.

Nestled in our 96 acres, we are incredibly lucky to have a dedicated Woodland area in which our wilderness experts deliver our Forest School curriculum to all students from Reception to Year 6.

Each year, we take great pleasure in being able to welcome the local community and prospective families to experience this wild and almost magical space and engage in some of the outdoor learning activities that our own students hugely benefit from throughout their time at Pipers.

In Summer 2025, we are delighted to be running two events on the below dates.

Thursday 22 May, 1630-1800 hours (for students currently in Years 2, 3, 4 and 5)

Thursday 5 June, 1630-1800 hours (for students currently in Pre-School, Reception and Year 1)

Individual tours are available most mornings during the working week at scheduled times, to coincide with independent study periods of our Sixth Form Tour Guides. Visiting the School on a one-to-one basis enables families to get a real feel for the school environment and sample the atmosphere for themselves.

As an all-through-School, not only do you get the chance to visit the part of the School most relevant to your daughter at the point of entry, but you will also get to see the areas of the School which your daughter will grow into.

Subject to availability, some of our tours can be accompanied by a meeting with the Headmistress. Priority is given to those families considering the upcoming academic year of entry. Please speak to the Admissions Team for more information.

If you would like to book an appointment, please contact the Admissions Team, via [email protected] or 01494 719843

Past Events

Our new termly Conversation and Coffee events see a Senior member of staff offer expert insight and guidance on a wide range of topics, that will resonate with families as they support their child through their educational journey.

Topics span a broad range of themes that include Academic, Pastoral, Extra and Super-curricular Enrichment and Individual Learning.

Upcoming Coffee & Conversation Events

Our next event, planned for the Summer Term, will focus on the integral role of pastoral care and wellbeing initiatives at Pipers and the positive impact on our students. Booking will open in the Spring.

Previous Coffee & Conversation Events

Our first event focused on the academic journey at secondary school and we were delighted to welcome so many parents for an informal yet informative session. Led by our Deputy Head (Academic), Mrs Derbyshire, this talk offered parents a valuable insight into the nature of secondary education and the approach of Pipers in ensuring that each student reaches their unique potential.

Our second event explored Individual Learning and Neurodiversity, led by our own Educational Psychologist, and Head of Individual Learning , Ms Britnell.

Every November, we open up our doors to our own Years 10 and 11 students, as well as to those families who might be considering joining our incredible Sixth Form.

At this event, families will have the opportunity to hear from our Academic Deputy Head and Sixth Form Leadership Team, including our Senior Prefects, and explore more than 25 A Level subjects that are on offer to our Sixth Form students.

The next event will take place in November 2025.

If you are interested in applying for September 2025 entry for Sixth Form, please contact the Registrar to arrange a tour of the School - [email protected] or on 01494 719843.

Year 6 at Pipers Corner School lays a unique foundation for success in Senior School and beyond.

Year 6 is a natural entry point here at Pipers, with around 20 new students joining our existing 20 Year 5 students, creating a two-form year group.

We know for some families, a Year 6 transition is not a traditional time to move their child, but we believe in the benefits of joining Pipers at this point. In our nurturing, supportive environment, our Year 6 students develop confidence, independence and a growth mindset preparing them for the challenges of Year 7 and the future ahead.

We are delighted to invite parents considering possible entry for their daughter at this point, to attend our Year 6 Parent Information Morning on Friday 31 January 2025. Our Head of Prep, Mr Urquhart, will lead a talk over refreshments and parent will have the opportunity to meet members of Prep staff and ask questions.

The event will start at 0915 hours and last approximately one hour. To secure your place, please use the link below.

Booking for this event has now closed but we hope to run a similar session in Autumn 2025.
