Pre-Prep

On the last Friday before the half-term the Pre-Prep Department opened its doors to the grandparents of the girls in Year 2 for a ‘Grandparents' Tea Party’.

The girls had been planning the event for some time, first they created and sent the invitations, then they made the sandwiches and baked the cakes and above all else they prepared the questions they wanted to ask their grandparents about what life was like when they were young.

Each girl met her grandparents at the door and escorted them to their seats before offering them the food they had made. They were delighted to be able to pose for photos and to finally ask the questions they had thought of.

Class teacher Mrs Clare said, “The girls were very excited about having their grandparents into school and were excellent hostesses. It was illuminating for everyone to hear all of the answers and the girls were fascinated to find out about what it was like when their grandparents were children and to be able to compare it to the way they live today.”
