Pre-Prep

Year 2 welcomed their grandparents to a special tea party in the Pre-Prep Department on Friday afternoon. The girls had taken great care in their planning and organising for the day - designing their own invitations, making delicious cakes and decorating Pre-Prep with posters and welcome signs.

When everyone arrived they all gathered for cake, biscuits and juice before the guests proceeded to answer the girls’ questions about their lives and experiences in their past.  The theme for the party was “what life was like when grandparents were young”.  The questions they asked included:

  • What was your school like?
  • Did you have a car?
  • How was cooking different?
  • What was the food like?
  • What was TV like?

The girls found it very interesting learning what it was like for the grandparents when they were younger and how their lives compare today.

Year 2 teacher, Mrs Clare said “It is always a pleasure to invite the girls’ grandparents to school and have them talk about what life was like when they were younger.  Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed hearing their stories and it has helped them understand the differences between past and present.”
