Spring chicks in Pre-Prep

There was great excitement in Pre-Prep this week as eight new little chicks made their way into the world when they hatched from their eggs.  Since then the girls have spent time caring for the chicks and have watched their every move with fascination and enjoyment. 

All the girls in the Department have had the opportunity to hold the chicks, whilst the Reception class studied them more closely by measuring and weighing them as part of their Mathematics lesson.

Reception class teacher, Mrs Child, said “It is always wonderful seeing the girls’ reactions to the chick hatching in the Department.  They were very excited to handle the chicks and took great joy in measuring and weighing to see which chicks were the heaviest.”
