Whole School Pre-Prep and Prep

Girls in the Prep Department put on a fabulous Dance show last week when they took to the stage to perform to their family and friends.  It provided a lovely opportunity for the girls from the various Dance Companies, clubs and dance examination groups, along with each year group to come together and demonstrate what they have been learning.

Just like the recent Senior Dance Show, the evening was inspired by stories, books and fairy tales and began with Year 6 performing “Now you see me now you don’t” which was influenced by the “Where’s Wally” books.  There were then performances from girls studying tap, ballet, contemporary and street jazz.

Other performances included the Prep Dance Company performing to “Special powers” inspired by the story of “Matilda” by Roald Dahl, Year 3 dancing to “Colours of the wind” and Year 4 performing “Strength of the heart”.  For the finale all girls came together to perform “Better when I’m dancing” by Meghan Trainor.

The younger girls also had the opportunity to see the senior girls dance during the show.  This was a great way for them to see the progression they will be able to make themselves throughout their time at Pipers Corner.

Head of Dance, Miss Snellgrove, said “The Junior Dance Show was absolutely fantastic and I am very proud of the girls.  They worked incredibly hard and the show was a triumph.  It was also lovely for them to see the older girls dance and I hope that they have been inspired by them.”
