Pipers Student Shines at 2023 English National U17 Championships

Progression is the name of the game when it comes to athletics, something that was demonstrated from the very first race by Pipers Year 11 student Aoife M at last weekend’s English National U17 Women’s Pentathlon in Sheffield.

Personal best followed personal best, as Aoife showed her progress from previous years with PB’s in Hurdles, High Jump, Shot and the 800 Metres. Attending on behalf of her club, Wycombe Phoenix, Aoife said how wonderful it was to see so many athletes brave the Sheffield snow and turn up ready to step up a level.

Aoife finished with an overall points score of 2571, ranking her 20^th in England and 33^rd in the UK and Ireland for U17 Combined Athletics. This is an incredible achievement; we are very proud of her!
