Boarders

Last weekend the boarders were London ‘day trippers’ visiting the Victoria and Albert Museum, the National Science Museum and hitting the last day of the January sales in Oxford Street. Our new Boarding Assistants Miss Wawn and Miss Albert also shared in the fun of their first visit into London.

Lauren B (UIV) commented that the building itself was an interesting design and that, “The jewellery exhibits were awe inspiring, especially to see the workmanship of the pieces.” Ana P (LIV) liked seeing the stained glass windows and all the girls were amazed by the array of clothing from across the ages of British culture.

The boarders and staff then ventured into the ‘hands on’ magic of the National Science Museum, where there are lots of opportunities for interactive learning. Kimberely C (UII) thought that “the best part of the museum was the space room because I saw how rockets were made and a piece of the moon!”

Oxford Street still had the beautiful Christmas lights hanging and the girls proceeded to join the throng of shoppers to frequent the big stores in hunt of some last minute bargains. A great day out was had by all and despite the cold the sun was shining, showing off the best side of a wonderful city.
