On Wednesday 3 February a number of Pipers girls travelled to the Cross Country Championships at Hughenden Park for the Buckinghamshire Schools Cross Country Championships.

The first race of the meet was the Year 5 and 6 event - the 1500m.  The girls competing got off to a flying start with Isabella J (Year 6) being the first girl back for Pipers in 23rd place, followed by Thea G (Year 4) in 35th.  The Pipers team came 8th overall out of 14 teams.

The next race was the Year 7 2000m.  After a hotly contested race, Laura W was the first Pipers girl over the line in 11th place, followed by Emma H in 16th.  The Year 7 team came 6th overall out of 11 teams.

The final race of the day was the Year 9 and 10 3000m and once again all girls managed a great start and worked their way to the front of the leading pack in the first part of the race.  Katie T (Year 9) came home first for Pipers in 5th place, followed by Lucie P (Year 9) in 29th.  Katie has now achieved potential selection for the County Squad.  Pipers came 8th overall.
