Girls in the Pre-Prep Department enthusiastically participated in a hugely enjoyable Art Day on Monday when they had the opportunity to complete a variety of creative activities.

The theme for the day was a celebration of the Queen’s official birthday and all pieces will be on display at the Queen’s Birthday Tea on Thursday 23 June and at the Art Exhibition at the end of Term.

  • Reception girls created a birthday cake for the queen out of cardboard boxes and flowers, complete with a happy birthday candle to top to top it off.  They also made their own ommemorative stamps.
  • Year 1 made crowns fit for any queen from card, tissue paper, jewels and sequins. They also decorated commemorative plates.
  • Year 2 used clay to make their own corgi. They also designed and made stamps using block printing.

Head of Pre-Prep, Mrs Rushforth, said “The Pre-Prep Art Day was a fantastic experience for the girls. They really enjoyed taking part in the activities and have prepared some truly amazing pieces for the Queen’s Birthday Tea later this term.”
