Competing on the slopes

In December the Pipers Ski Racing Team spent a brilliant six days taking part in the Independent Schools Ski & Snowboard Championships (ISSSC) in Les Deux Alpes, France, alongside 20 other independent schools from all over the UK.

It was an exciting event for both good, intermediate and excellent skiers, providing the chance to develop skills and have a go at competing. Our team made the most of the opportunity to train with specialist racing instructors, before putting their skills into practice on the three race days where they took on the challenge of giant slalom, slalom and finally the exciting parallel team slaloms.

Our best results came from Sophia M, Daisy M and Imogen J who achieved 6^th, 8^th and 10^th place respectively in in their age categories. However, all the girls pushed themselves to do their very best and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
