With our War Memorial displayed for all to see on our grounds, we were proud to stand united today to hold silence for our fallen and turn our thoughts towards the courageous Armed Forces and their families.

In preparation for Remembrance events taking place today, Emilia W and Hattie M (as part of a student-led initiative) took it upon themselves to paint a carefully researched, structured and thought-provoking mural to serve as a reminder of the lives lost, the general impact of conflict and its consequences in world wars. The students shared their mural dedication at the beginning of our service this morning, to 'remember all those who have lost their lives in service for our country'. A two-minute silence of reflection was held, with our Head Girl Team placing a wreath and attaching a poppy to our Tommy figure. The service concluded with a soft and moving rendition of Mozart's Amen by Senior School Students.

What followed after lunch was an impactful assembly lead by our Sixth Form Prefects, who delivered a interview with members of Staff Mr Johnston and Mr Vacher who both shared their experiences of serving in our armed forces and their dedications before laying a wreath to our War Memorial.

As we have done for 100 years as a country, Remembrance Day serves to remember the service and sacrifice the Armed Forces made to protect our way of life, with the red poppy representing a hopeful vision for a peaceful future. At Pipers, we hold this tradition with great honour whilst also raising money for the Royal British Legion. Lest we Forget.
