On top of preparing for the end of a busy school year, our students were given the chance to experience the next stage in their educational journey. This includes readying our Year 6 students entering Senior School and our Year 11 for entering the Sixth Form.

Each day offered the students different experiences, with Reception to Year 6 doing 'icebreaker activities' in buddy groups, visiting the Senior Library and learning from Year 12 Prefects about their specialist subjects in smaller group sessions. The students got to know their Year 7 Tutors while any visiting parents had the chance to speak to our Head of Years 7 and 8 and listen to talks from Nurses and Senior Leaders talking about health, wellbeing and safeguarding.

Just as Year 10 experienced the week before, Year 11 got their introduction to Sixth Form with taster lessons (across the span of several days) of A Level subjects, including Psychology, Sociology, Core Maths and Photography. They also had a one-day workshop from Talk the Talk, who work with teachers and schools to provide young people with the skills to communicate with confidence through a variety of oracy workshops to address key employability challenges, improve self-esteem and enable students to engage with others confidently and persuasively. They were also given the opportunity to take part in mock interviews and receive valuable information on enrichment and Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

We hope these few days have given our students more comfort before beginning their next steps in September.
