Friday 1 October was our annual Pipers Founder's Day.

This year we went back in time to the 1920s and 30s to mark the period when our founder, Jessie Cross, started the original Pipers School in London. Many of our staff and students dressed up and the campus was full of flapper girls and mobsters, as well as many Disney characters, celebrating the start of the Disney conglomerate in 1923.

As a mark of respect, our students lay flowers at the grave of Jessie Cross in Prestwood Cemetery. During the day there was also a group Charleston dance, a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s 1921 movie ‘The Kid’ as well as lots of themed lessons and activities throughout the School.

The day concluded with a special Thanksgiving Assembly dedicated to the life and work of Jessie Cross, including the cutting of a special cake by the youngest girl in the School and the Head Girl.

All of the money raised from the day will go to Save the Children and Gingerbread; a charity for single parent families.
