Pre-Prep and Prep

On Wednesday 10 December the Prep Department held their annual Christmas Concert, “A Celebration of Festivals”. The concert highlighted different festivals around the world including, Chinese New Year and Diwali.

Year 6 started the performance with facts about Christmas and a fantastic rendition of Jingle Bells. It was then the turn of Year 3 with a special dance, including a dragon about Chinese New Year and then sang “Gung Hay Fat Choy” which means Happy New Year in Chinese. There was facts and a song about Hanukkah from Year 4 and Year 5 told the story of Rama and Sita and why Hindu’s celebrate Diwali. Year 6 then took to the stage to sing “Can it be true?”.

The evening came to an end with the entire Prep Department singing traditional Christmas songs and also a special rendition of “The Twelve Days of Christmas”. Re-written by Mr Woodhall it was all about school and included lyrics such as “Five hockey sticks”, “Nine science goggles” and “a big wig for Mr Leith”.

Head of Prep, Mr Leith said “The concert was a fantastic way for girls, staff and parents to get together for an evening of festive fun. All girls involved worked very hard during their rehearsals and the final performance was spectacular to watch, and be a part of!”
