Future Ballet Stars

Huge congratulations go to three Year 6 girls at Pipers Corner, Annique B, Catriona R and Elizabeth R, who have been selected to dance in the upcoming English Youth Ballet production of Swan Lake at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury. Alongside 100 other local dancers the girls will start rehearsals in February in preparation for the four performances taking place in late April.

Not only will the girls have the chance to perform on the stage but they are also very excited about the opportunity to gain valuable experience dancing with others and to find out what it is like to be in a professional production.

The girls were encouraged to audition by Head of Dance at Pipers, Miss Snellgrove so that they could gain experience of the process as they look to the future and a potential career in dance. The audition process was in the form of a ballet class with all participants performing together and within smaller groups. The English Youth Ballet looks for young dancers who love their dancing and who would benefit from classes, rehearsals and participating in these productions.

Miss Snellgrove, Head of Dance said “I am very pleased that Annique, Catriona and Elizabeth have had this very special opportunity to showcase their dancing skills as well as work with other young performers. The experience of performing on stage will be amazing for them, and hugely rewarding for their hard work and dedication.”
