The end of year Year 6 production brought a little taste of the West End to Pipers on Wednesday and Thursday evening this week as the girls performed the musical “Annie”.  All girls in Year 6 took part and really raised the roof with their wonderful singing, acting and dancing. Highlights included their renditions of the classic “Tomorrow”, “Easy Street” and “It’s a hard knock life” which the girls performed with great passion and enthusiasm.

In preparation for the show the girls watched the film to help them get in the mood and learn about their characters. They also worked very hard during their Drama, Music and Dance lessons throughout the term to make sure they had perfected their parts for opening night.

Hair, make-up and scenery were all very impressive and really brought the different parts of the play together, whether that was in the girls’ orphanage or on the streets of New York.  Special mention must go to canine cast member Lola McKie-King who helped the girls by taking on the role of Sandy the dog, she behaved remarkably well even with lots of lights and loud singing.

Head of Prep Drama, Ms Halton said “The girls’ have really surpassed themselves this year and I am very proud of them.  They performed with such high energy and talent it was a show I will remember for a very long time.”
