On Monday Year 6 girls enjoyed an adventurous day at Woodrow High House, an outdoor activity Centre occupying 24 acres of grounds on the edge of the Chilterns.

The day was a hugely valuable opportunity for the girls to improve their team building skills as they embarked on a series of group tasks and activities. These included “Jacob’s Ladder” an activity which challenges small teams of climbers to pull together in order to navigate their way up a giant ladder of horizontally suspended logs with ever-increasing gaps between the rungs. The girls had to ensure that they communicated effectively with each other in order to enable them to all reach the top!

The girls also completed a number of problem-solving exercises and a camp building challenge.

Head of Prep, Mr Leith, said “We all had an excellent day at Woodrow High House. It was extremely beneficial for the girls to have the chance to get out of the classroom and rise to the challenge of participating in a number of unfamiliar tasks. We have welcomed a whole new class of girls in to the school at Year 6 so it was hugely important for the whole year group to spend time together and develop their new friendships. The girls relished the opportunity to try out new things and I was thoroughly impressed by the enthusiasm they all demonstrated throughout the day.
