This week, Pipers celebrated VE/VJ Day and Prizegiving.

On Monday 21 September, the Pipers community held a belated celebration to mark VE/VJ Day, followed by our virtual Prizegiving Ceremony.

The whole school were treated to a street party style lunch, dining on long tables outside. Our caterers Holroyd Howe cooked up a delicious barbecue, as well as more than 700 cupcakes, which formed the shape of a Union Jack. There was also candy floss and popcorn!

Following lunch, we held our virtual Prizegiving Ceremony, in the absence of Speech Day which could not go ahead in July due to Covid-19. In the run up to the event, Headmistress Mrs Ness-Gifford had surprised various students in their classrooms (and, in some cases, their homes!) with their prize, all of which were filmed and broadcast as part of the virtual ceremony. More than 100 prizes were announced, including those awarded to last year's leavers.
