Pre-Prep Dance and Drama Show

On Friday 2 May the Pre-Prep Department held their annual Dance and Drama Show, organised and choreographed by Head of Prep Drama, Ms Halton and Dance teacher Miss Snellgrove. 

Each Year group took to the stage to perform a sample of what they have learnt. First up was Reception, with the girls demonstrating their Dance warm up techniques with jumps and stretching.  For their Drama performance they performed games where they had to become characters and express a feeling through their facial expressions.

Year 1 also performed warm ups before taking it to the next level by presenting a Dance routine.  In Drama the girls recited some poetry and demonstrated the skills they have been learning of sounding words correctly and projection.

Finally Year 2 took to the stage.  Again the girls performed a Dance warm up, but theirs included much more technical elements than the ones presented by the younger girls. They then performed a character Dance which they have learnt in class. For their Drama performance the girls had learnt a play about books.  Each member of Year 2 stood up and performed brilliantly, remembering their lines and how to present to the audience.

Ms Halton, Head of Prep Drama, said “It is such a delight to teach the girls in Pre-Prep. The performance was a great success and it was a pleasure to show parents what the girls have been learning all year.”
