The Pipers Corner Theatre Company presented an incredible production of “Living with Lady Macbeth”, in the last week of the Spring Term. It was the debut performance from the newly formed Company which was set up to provide an opportunity for budding actors to showcase their talents as part of a smaller cast than that of the larger annual school productions. Each member of The Company excelled in their roles, bringing a huge amount of drama to their performances.

The play, written by Rob John, tells the story of Lily, an ordinary girl who wants to do something different in her life and step out of her comfort zone. To do this she decides that she will audition for the role of Lady Macbeth in the forthcoming school performance of “Macbeth”. Everyone thinks Lily is reliable and average and she is determined to show that there is more to her than that. The dark twists and turns to the plot that follow show just what can happen when ambition takes hold.

The breadth of the story enabled each performer to demonstrate the full range of their acting skills to great effect. The talents of the backstage crew also shone through in the professional way they managed the stage and lighting throughout.

Drama teacher, Ms Halton, the brainchild behind the launch of the new Company, said “I have thoroughly enjoyed directing the first Pipers Theatre Company production, “Living with Lady Macbeth”. It has been such a hugely exciting and positive experience right from the onset. The cast have been truly committed and it was lovely to welcome some male actors from RGS High Wycombe and Henley College. We were delighted with the wonderful response from the girls, parents and the wider community and to say that I am proud of the cast and crew is an understatement. I am very excited to take The Company onto our next venture and look forward to a challenging and exciting future.”.
