Girls in Year 6 welcomed their parents and local senior citizens to school for a delicious French breakfast and Nativity play this week.  The Studio Café was decorated with the French flag, bunting and Eiffel towers made by the girls. Guests were greeted by the girls and asked, in French, what they would like to eat and drink.  They then enjoyed tucking into a tasty array of Pain au Chocolat, Croissants, tea and coffee.

After their breakfast, guests were taken to the Prep Hall where they were treated to a Nativity performance, where all the girls involved acted the story of the birth of Jesus entirely in French.

The morning was a fantastic way for the girls to practice their conversational French and for their parents to see the progress the girls have made in learning the language. It was also nice for the girls to showcase their skills to the local community.

Head of Prep, Mr Leith said “The girls did remarkably well with their conversations in French and with their acting skills.  It is a great way to show parents how well the girls are doing in their French lessons and an enjoyable way to practise the language.”
