Pre-Prep and Prep

The Prep Department brought a huge amount of festive cheer to Pipers with their Christmas Concert yesterday evening.  It was a fantastic production of dance, drama and singing from all girls in Year 3 to 6.

This year’s performance told the story of Father Christmas who, not being happy with the state of modern children and how horrible and rude they were, decided to go on strike.  His elves then set out to show him that not all children were like that and that Christmas is a time for caring and sharing.

Year 6 started the journey with a poem about getting ready for Christmas and a dance to “Rocking around the Christmas tree”.  Year 3 marched on stage defending turkeys and other animals singing “Puppies are not just for Christmas”.  Year 5 were next with a poem about caring at Christmas time written by Head of Prep Drama, Ms Halton.  Year 4 explained the real meaning of Christmas to the audience and sang “Carol of hope” by Don Besig.

The evening ended with some fantastic songs from the whole Department including “Holly and the Ivy” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas” re-written by Assistant Director of Music, Mr Woodhall, which included many lines about the school including “two twirling tutus” and “a theatre that’s nearly rea-dy!”.

Head of Prep, Mr Leith said “The concert was fantastic with all girls putting their heart and soul into the performance.  They have worked incredibly hard over the last few weeks in the rehearsals and it was a joy to watch.”
