Six girls from Year 9 – 11 travelled to Reading School this month to take part in the Geographical Association’s WorldWise Quiz.  The aim of the quiz is to test students on their knowledge of general geography such as flags, countries, Ordance Survey map skills and famous landmarks.

This year Pipers entered two teams to compete against 22 teams from various schools across the country.  The final result saw them place 17th and 7th, which is the highest position a Pipers team has come in the competition.

Geography teacher, Miss Clifford said “The annual WorldWise competition is an excellent way to stretch and challenge our able, gifted and talented girls.  I am very proud of them and they did remarkably well with stiff competition. They all really enjoyed the evening of geographical competition.”

The teams consisted of Louise P (Year 10), Emily F (Year 9), Heather L (Year 8) Alison S (Year 10), Helena R (Year 9) and Ella N (Year 8).
