Senior School Pre-Prep and Prep

This week Year 7 girls took part in the House Mathematics Challenge, competing in four challenges which led them on a trail around the school.

The girls had to work out the area of a tennis court, arrange pentominoes into rectangles, solve spatial awareness puzzles and learn probability by playing Yahtzee.

The final scores were as follows:

  • First | Hampden | 114 points
  • Second | Penn | 111 points
  • Third | Milton | 102 points
  • Fourth | Mandeville | 98 points

Head of Mathematics, Mrs Robinson said “The challenge was a fantastic way to engage with the girls straight after exams and encourage them to use Maths practically.  They thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, and the opportunity it gave them to apply their Mathematical skills in a different and interesting way.”
