On Friday 11 November, four Year 6 mathematicians visited the Beacon School to take part in their annual Year 6 Mathematics Challenge.

The Pipers Corner team comprising of Scarlett C, Isabelle E (Prep Mathematics Captain), Elsa H and Isabella P (Prep Mathematics Captain) competed against nine other schools and are to be congratulated on their effort and coming fourth overall.

The Mathematics Challenge at The Beacon School has been a regular feature on the Maths calendar for many years and provides children from local schools with an exciting educational competition to take part in. There were four rounds of questions, which included problem solving and investigations.

Deputy Head of Prep and Mathematics teacher, Mr Cohen said “The girls had a wonderful afternoon on Friday pitting their mathematics skills over four rounds. It was a great experience for them and to come away fourth was a great achievement.”
