Pre-Prep and Prep Productions

The Prep Department brought a huge amount of festive cheer to Pipers when they staged their Christmas Concert at the end of term. It was a fantastic evening of dance, drama and singing from all girls in Year 3 to Year 6.

This year’s production saw the girls vie for the prize of “Outstanding Contribution to Christmas” at the Golden Cracker Awards from Holly-wood in Tinsel-Town. The show was a musical reminder of what it truly means to be a Christmas star.

Year 3 kicked off the awards ceremony dressed as Christmas cards and delighted the audience with their card facts, dancing and song. Year 5 were next, representing Christmas trees and danced to “Rocking around the Christmas tree”. They also spoke about why Christmas trees are such an integral part of the season. Year 6 took on the roles of the Christmas dinner and Father Christmas’s helpers - they told Christmas jokes and read a Christmas dinner poem, written by Head of Prep Drama, Ms Bevan. Just as the ceremony came to an end there was a late addition to the nominees in the form of Year 4 who presented the nativity story, demonstrating why they deserved to be the winners.

The evening ended with some festive songs from the whole Department including “Walking in the Air” by Howard Blake and “I wish it could be Christmas Everyday” by Wizzard, with audience participation of course!

Head of Prep, Mrs Etchegoyen said “The concert this year was just amazing. All the girls worked so hard with their lines, dancing and singing. It was lovely to see them perform on the new theatre stage and they relished in the opportunity to bring Christmas cheer to the audience.”
